About the International Fantasy Basketball Keeper LeaguesThis is not your standard league, it goes very deep with 16 teams, and 16 roster spots (10 starters and 6 bench spots)
I started a League on NBA.com in 2008 when they were trying to get into the fantasy basketball business. 2008 was a successfull year and people enjoyed the league. It was a lot similar to this league except that NBA.com had a salary cap structure. The following season NBA.com got out of the fantasy business The IFBKL or International Fantasy Basketball Keeper League was started in 2010 on ESPN and has been running ever since. I wanted to get into a league that teams were able to keep a high number of players from year to year like the NBA but in a fantasy league. I could't find any leagues out there like I wanted so I created my own. When people were joining from all over the world, I named it The International Fantasy Basketball Keeper League. It is a 16 team Head-to-Head league where each category is a win. The Categories are: Points, Block, Steals, Assists, Rebounds, 3 pointers made, FG%, FT%, and AST/TO ratio. In 2010 Fantasy Basketball was booming and I was able to round up enough people for 2 leagues. This is where tier 2 started. I thought it would be a good Idea instead of scouring message boards to find people for my best league, I would take members from a league where they had been successful and call them up to the next tier. In 2014 The International Fantasy Keeper League created it's third tier because what is a 2nd tier without a 3rd tier? Everyone starts out here and you have to move up to the D-League and from there you move up to the big league. The 2020 season will be a year of change as there are some rules that were voted in to promote improved competition and modernization. Tiers 1 and 2 will adopt relegation rules, which will relegate managers that are not competing to the lower tier. Tiers 1 and 2 will also adopt a draft lottery to lower the benefits of tanking. All leagues will change the positions from the traditional PG, SG, SF, and PF positions to G and F positions. Full rules can be obtained by clicking the league rules tab. |
